What a special time of the year as we continue through this season of THANKFULNESS and CELEBRATION of the BIRTH OF JESUS! We certainly have much for which to PRAISE THE LORD!
These past months have been full of travel across the country connecting with the ANAM member missions while also doing much office work to prepare for and follow-up on each contact. Here are some highlights:
July took Doug to Florida to visit with Campsite Ministries and their new director, Dr. Clark Parry. He also connected with George and Janice Johnson, a previous ANAM Director (ages 98 and 96). We enjoyed having Faith’s brother, Steve, and his wife, Tammy, visit for a few days and Faith’s mom stayed with us for 3 weeks. That brought Anna and Sara and the grandkids from Kansas City for visits!
August travel took us to Source of Light International in Madison, Georgia for the ANAM Appalachian Regional. Also, since Doug’s sister only lives 1 hour from SLM we spent a few days with Connie and Terry.
September had us headed to Kalamazoo, Michigan, for the in-depth review of RBM Ministries. It was a delight to spend time with their director, Scott Gilbertson, and his wife, Sharon, and their board. We also spent time with some dear friends, enjoyed a visit to the Ark, and the trip ended with ANAM visits in Kentucky.
October - 2 weeks later we went to Denver, hopped an airplane to Portland, Oregon, and met with the director, John Adams, key staff, and board chairman of Village Missions for their in-depth review. The next week we spent at Frontier School of the Bible participating in the Missions Conference. At the end of the conference, Faith made a quick trip to Oklahoma for the funeral of her Uncle Joel and spent some time with family, while Doug spoke at a supporting church in Kansas. Visits with supporters and a day to rest filled the next week before arriving in Hasty, Arkansas and Rock Haven Ministries. We had a great meeting with the director, Andrew Campbell, their staff, and board members as we did an in-depth review of the organization.
November & early December has kept us pretty close to home and the office. November 1st began with an ANAM online board meeting. Then it was time for wrapping up the review meetings. Each one requires much preparation, follow-up through written reports, and the sharing of needed resources. Yes, lots of paper work, but each organization is “assisted in operating with excellence” as a result of the process, the on-site meeting, and follow-up information.
As we reviewed our calendar today for the coming months, please pray with us as we continue to travel extensively for ANAM assisting ministries, sharing the need for staff at each mission, and with the Lord’s help, providing encouragement.
As we wrap up 2022, we’d like to share a few special blessings with you:
- Earlier this year, God provided us with a reliable van for travel! We didn’t have any problems through all the miles that we covered during these trips!
- This December marks 10 years since Faith’s battle with cancer and extensive surgery! What a blessing to still be getting good results at each check-up and hear medical people express surprise that she is doing so well! Resulting challenges - yes, but manageable - YES!
- Doug has seen improvement in controlling his diabetes! Please pray with us for improved pain management for his degenerative disk disease.
- We are so blessed by our family! Their love, care, assistance, and input in our decisions are encouraging!
- God’s provision of our every need through the prayer, love, and generosity of many of YOU!
May each of you enjoy a VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS SEASON with family and friends! 2023 is just around the corner, which gives us each another year to honor and serve the Lord, our FAITHFUL SAVIOR!
